Default Can bad axle cause alignment problems?

So I've got a cracked boot on the drivers side axle. It's been like that for a couple of years, so I was just going to leave it until it got bad enough that I had to replace it. A while ago the axle started making noise, but only when I accelerate during a turn. If I'm driving straight or I don't accelerate or make tight turns, it doesn't make any noise. (It's kind of a clicking sound)

It's also out of alignment, it pulls to the right a little bit. So could the axle going out cause it to go out of alignment. I wouldn't think so since it's just the axle is out of lubrication now so it's starting to grind a little bit, right? I wouldn't think it would pull in or out or anything that would cause it to go out of alignment, but I could be wrong. Anyway, any help would be great.

An axle will not effect alignment. Toe and camber are adjusted by the suspension and ride height, not the drive train

Your assumption is correct.

So if I'm going to replace the bad axle, it shouldn't matter if I do it before or after I get the alignment done?

do the logical thing and replace it before the alignment
