I'm looking to upgrade the front sway to the 26mm found in the 99-00 Si. Right now it has a 22mm front sway. What would I need besides the sway to install it. I would like to get aftermarket end links, sway bar bushings for the 26mm and sway mounts. Which endlinks would work? Would I need to get aftermarket endlinks for the si or 96-00 civic ex/lx? Will the si bar even work in the ex.

eventually I'd like to get 22mm aftermarket sway for the rear, but that's later.

I would like to take a turn at more than 5mph...the body roll is rediculous in this car. I've got decent/good tires.

right now on the car:
195/55/15 General exclaim UHP tires (summer)
GR-2 Struts/tanabe GF springs
front strut bar

u should be able to just take off ur sway and put the si on. i did this on a 5gen to upgrade to the gsr bar, which was bigger then mine. if you want aftermarket endlinks and stuff thats up to u the stock ones will work though.

 

1 more thing, upgrade shocks and get a rear sturt bar, and a beaks bar,when you get your rear sway bar, that should take care of most of your body role

Si lower control arms,
Si lower shock 'u's (#11 & 12 in the Si pic)
Si sway bar
Si swaybar bushings and brackets,
Si end links
Si radius arm bushing (#7)
OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT WORK

Why? because the lower cont arms, the bar, the lower shock mounts, and the end links are completely different from the EJ8 to EM1. Which you should be able to see in the exploded parts pics below...

The front shocks, the upper control arms, the knuckle, and the rest of the front parts ARE THE SAME for both the EJ8 & EM1

I just checked the prices on bernardiparts.com and it lists the LCA for the si, at 128$ a piece, and forks at 40 a pop. The 26mm bar itself is only 76. Damn, kind of pricy with all the parts.

What if I got the blox 24mm bar for the 96-00, would I still have to change to the Si LCA's?

I have new eibach prokit springs waiting to go on, are these popular/any good??

Also, someone mentioned to get different struts. Are KYB GR-2 not too popular? Which struts/shocks are popular? SKUNK2, TOKICO, EIBACH??

no offense but WHY do this? (the rear bar helps with body roll)

A larger front bar will increase understeer(something civics suffer from badly), a rear bar will decrease understeer.

Try out a set of poly bushings for the front 22mm bar and add a 22mm rear bar. It's cheaper, easier and as long as you beef up the rear subframe (ASR - there goes the cheaper part, but you'd have to do that anyway) and have a decent set of springs/shocks, it should work very well. Just keep in mind that you really want to take time to get used to it, don't go out and do an emergency lane change at highway speeds right away.
Worst case if you hate it, remove one of the rear bar's endlinks until you can bump up the front bar's diameter.

Yeah, I'm just looking to upgrade a little. On my WRX I went from 20mmF/20mmR to 21F/22R with alum. endlinks and you could feel the difference going harder in turn vs stock setup with rubber endlinks...

So the 22mm front bar is adequate. So, I could go 22mm rear, (looking at blox 22mm rear, any good?), ASR subframe, and a set of endlinks. Are the rear LCA worth replacing, or just leave stock?..

And will KYB GR-2's/Eibach prokit springs be decent/good setup? just trying to stiffen up the car a bit.

 

 

99 si sway will work, you just need to use GSR endlinks. the L shape endlink. Though you will have sway bar and lca rubbing issue but it'll just be sqeeky..
