d16a6 has 3 sensors in the ditrbutor TDC, Cylinder position, and crankshaft position sensor.

the d15b1 only have TDC and Crankshaft position sensor.

When you conver tot multiport you have to run 2 wires for the cylinder position sensor. This is why the a6 dizzy does not work on a b1 or b2 motor, because the dizzy has no idea where #1 cylinder position is and doesn't know when to fire, hence why it stalls.

correct! it bolts up of course but only works and is needed when you do the mpfi swap.

no if your dual point fuel injected your going to need the 5 wire square plug dizzy, its the fuel injection system not the engine internals. its good you have that distributor though, because its one of the main things you need for a multi-port fuel injection swap.

While this is an interesting theory, it is not Fact. The reason the distributors will not work in place of each other electronically is due to them having different reluctor rings... They send different pulses to the ECU and we just can't have that now can we? They can swap physically though with out a problem. Also, internally "sensor" wise they have the same... you are mistaken when you say it is missing one...
