Default 2008 Honda Civic Si N/A with Mods FlashPro Dyno Tune Results

2008 Honda Civic Si

Mods

- Injen Cold Air Intake with Apexi Air Filter
- Skunk2 Race Header
- Skunk2 70mm Exhaust
- Skunk2 Fuel Rail
- NST Pulleys
- P2R Throttle Body Spacer with Gaskets
- P2R Intake Manifold Gasket
- Ingalls PowerStick
- Ingalls Engine Torque Dampener
- Hondata FlashPro with Custom Tune

I went to Proven Power today and he did a quick $100 Tune with my new FlashPro and this is what I got.

I need some IPS CAMS and a Valvetrain Kit. I want 250HP N/A and I will be happy!

I need to beat last week's 14.651 sec @ 97.21 MPH 1/4 mile run running Hondata's generic MAF map. Hopefully I can beat it with this custom MAP map

Proven Power Custom FlashPro Tune = 216.82 HP / 154.55 TQ
Stock Honda Tune = 198.75 HP / 150.96 TQ

Gain = 18.07 HP / 3.59 TQ

Maybe you guys can help me?

I photoshoped the lines in for reference from my last dyno. But it seems that the only time that I go over 14 AFR is from 4600 RPM to 5600RPM. Should I be near a constant 13:1 AFR at all times or what on a N/A engine? Or do I risk detonation and engine knock if I leave it as is? I'm a newb when it comes to tuning...

Why does your stock run cut off at 7400RPM?? While your mid-range gains are pretty good....you're getting a false reading on your top-end gains by the graph cutting off like that.

This is my original Three runs with stock tune. I'm not sure why he choose that run to compare my new tune with?

Because that run was the one that made the lowest power "before", so he used it to compare to make himself look good, even though he clearly didn't rev that one out. The one "stock" run he revved out made 207 peak HP, so you really gained closer to 10 peak HP. Your midrange gains are much better, obviously. Did you have any mods done during those "stock" runs? This guy needs to calibrate his dyno if he's telling people their stock Si is making 207 HP at the wheels. But it's more important that you do your before and after runs on the same dyno, so that's just a small nitpick.

Is your VTEC crossover set at 4k RPM? You should really tune out that AFR dip there. Also, I doubt you have drastic enough mods yet to really gain much switching to a MAP tune. Did you do a before and after run?

You don't wanna run leaner then 13,5:1 under full load, if you care about your motor.

Before I went turbo, I had a bone stock 08 coupe si, and I felt like I gained at least 20hp in the low/mid range just with flashpro and a torque dampener, but also felt like the top end was dying out... but who cares, bottom end is where we needed it.. Who really needs to go ***** out in a race? Should be done by the end of 5th at the most...But back on topic.., so this thread pretty much proves my theory. With stock + the stock tune from fpro, and using the 4300 and 5800 vtec. It was awesome. Glad to see in the 200s with minor bolt ons. good job.

And im pretty sure, he didnt have any mods during the "STOCK" run, when it clearly states stock run, just the flashpro. Which gave him that extra kick in the low to mid.

heres your answer:
none. k series cams are interchangeable.
u just need to know what you're getting yourself into before you go through with it.
be ready for down time, and some problems.
i cant wait to get my hands on the hybrid racing k series timing chain tensioner =]
