Well idk what to tell you guys. Here in NY in the winter it gets cold, and with the cooling plate last february thats what happened. It never happened before i got it so it has to be as a result of it. Btw, this happened while driving 60mph+ for over a 30min period.
Sorry if you dont beleive me, but i have to reason to come on here lying. As soon as i find the pic (yes i took a pic), i'll post it.
And here it is!

The issue is that your car is running way below normal operating temperature, which can be harmful to your engine. They are designed to run above a specified temperature and it's the thermostats job to maintain that temp. With or without a cooling plate, it should never drop below.
Sometimes when the thermostat malfunctions, they default to the open position. I forget what the OEM Thermostat temperature rating is, but say your running a 180 degree thermostat, the temperature should never drop below 175ish degrees. At 175ish, the thermostat will close, blocking circulation of coolant to the radiator, and allow the coolant to heat up. Then when its back around 185ish, the thermostat will open back up, allowing the coolant to circulate again.
If it were okay for engines to run that cool, there would be no thermostat.
Take my advice or leave it, a thermostat costs around 15$. I would at least remove yours, put it in a pot of boiling water, and see if it opens/closes.

Will do... The thermostat might be due for a change by now. Since i bought the engine, it has about 3k on it, i dont know the prior history in jdmland... Thanks again.
I'm not saying the plate doesn't work tho. I have one on my race car and based on the water temp gauge (not the factory one), the plate effectively brought down the water temp quite significantly (I would say 10 to 15'C).
your temp needle should never go down that low no matter what. the thermostat is designed to stay closed to warm up the engine to proper operating temps to function properly. you should take a look at the thermostat, even here in colorado during the winter seasons, my temp gauge after warm up never goes down that low let alone the middle of cold and center.
Yup something is wrong with your thermostat. It's not the plate. It's just mechanically impossible to have the needle point so low if everything works right. The thermo probably stuck open.

What info do you need? Two retailers have already been posted.
Temp has more tech in it than your WTB post.
If you haven't gotten your answer, feel free to post up why other people's responses didn't answer your question. Or it may just simply mean that no one knows the answer, or care to find out for your.
A one word "bump" post will get the thread locked.
