Default need help on tires

i have a set of 17x7 wheels and was wondering if 235/45/17 tires will fit and my second question is. Is it bad if i put a different tire brand in the front and a different tire brand in the rear?

It's kind of difficult to guess fitment on an unknown car.

Those tires are slightly oversized for your car (roughly 1.8% too large). Your speedometer will be off.

Yup. Also, 235/45-17 should be mounted on wheels that are at least 7.5 inches wide. 17x7 is too narrow for that size. Stick with your stock size of 225/45-17.

Why are you asking about oversized tires? If you're looking for better performance, you should be concentrating on buying better, stickier tires, not wider tires. Most of the new "extreme performance" summer tires, including the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11, Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, Kumho Ecsta XS, and Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 are available in 225/45-17. If you're looking for better traction, get one of those.

I agree. that's one of the greatest misconceptions: that a wider tire will automatically be 'better' or 'stickier'.
