Default Auto tranny swap is done after 2 years!

well after 2 years in the making, my chevy to s2k swap is done

The trq converter is a 6k stall, so this should make for one screaming setup

Ditch the linkage setup on the tranny and convert it to a cable and then shifter mount becomes very easy.

Also I wont be fitting this in my car, I still have my car but it will be getting some twin turbo v8 love when I get back to it.

There are some pics of the ole beast

Ok so wait I'm kind of confused why do you want to convert to an automatic and is the motor going in a chevy or does the motor have a chevy tranny on it. What ever your going it looks legit you sure did put in the time and money in on this one nice work.

By looking at the valve body and bell housing...maybe a Turbo-Hydramatic 350/400....?

I'm sure the OP will chime in....those flex-plate/ring gear, to torque converter welds ARE SWEAT/WICKED Fab work!!!!!!!MAD skills right there!

Super interesting build!

I think somepeople dont know what there looking at! This is a adaptor plate to swap out the factory transmission to a auto chevy while using the s2000 motor. This is perfect for drag racing and also it means no more weak link in this platfrom! R200 diff DSS axels-shaft and now this!!

Thanks guys

Sorry I have forgotten about this post, I had made this post in welding/fab also and it has been so busy there.

We manufactured the custom flexplate, the adapter plate, and did the custom conversion to the converter (The converter starts out as a standard race 9" th350/400 converter, we then machine the bolting ears off and make the billet 2" standoff that can be seen in the pictures and weld it on all in house)

Many of you asking why convert it to an auto? Well for any of you who might have ever driven a real big hp s2k you will know you don't drive it very far or for very long because the trans blows up with just about any route you go.

We actually are taking delivery of a 6 axis robotic tig welder early next month so be prepared for the welds appearance and quality to go up 10fold!

My S is way on the backburner for me right now. I have some huge investments in our business right now that I will be waiting to pay off first, and after that I have an 71 240z that I have a pretty mean street build 350sbc to finish off. Pretty much the rest of this year is finish my Z and then the middle of next year start back up on the S. By then LS2's ought to be pretty cheap but I really love DOHC power so I might even consider a Ford SVT Cobra motor with 2 snails on it (gotta love 8k rpm and 8 cylinders with 2 snails on a STREET motor)
