Default Need a little help/suggestions for installation of power door locks...

I have posted this in another forum on H-T (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=259844), but it was suggested to try here as well... guess it's a more fitting forum for the subject.

I have a '95 Civic (the 1.5L SOHC) and am attempting to install power door locks and am having trouble just with the driver's door.
I need to be able to disable the mechanism that is requiring the door handle to be pulled out before the door can be locked/unlocked.
It would be fantastic if there was a way around disabling/removing this, but I haven't thought of a way yet.

Any and all suggestions/help will be much appreciated... will be rather depressed if I wasted the $60 or so on power door locks if I can't use them...

think of it this way...when you open your door with the key from the outside the handle is lifted is it? What you need to do is remove panel and attach acuator to the bar that unlatches the lock...it will only do this while to door is closed ( its done that way so we won't lock our keys inside by mistake)

have fun

Let me first say that the power door locks that I got were configured so that the 2 front doors can lock/unlock all 4 doors. The problem would've been when I try to lock/unlock the passenger front door... the actuator on the driver's door wouldn't be able to lock/unlock the door because of this "feature".

But, I finally figured out what I needed to do: forget about trying to disable this "feature" that tries to keep you from locking your keys in your car.

Instead, I just disabled the passenger front door from being able to lock/unlock all 4 doors. It's not as convenient, but solves my problem. It's not such a big deal considering I will be installing my alarm soon and will be using keyless entry anyway.
