Hub won't spin
Ok just pulled out my old single cam and installed a zc. Car starts runs great, but put the driver side axle back in and shot the axle nut on and now hub is not spinning. I tried another axle and same crap. Anybody out there help me out. Thanks
yeah the same axles. The other side us all together but up on the jack stands. I thought it was the tranny but spun free when the axle nut was not tight. Never had this problem
it wont spin at all? totally seized? and only with the nut on? your not putting the nut on there super freakin tight some how are you? that still doesnt make sense. bearings dont just die sitting still. something has to be off. i'd double check behind myself again.
i know this is a confusing one. I have done so many motor swaps and the first time this has happened. I will check the whole assembly and see if anything is bent or stuck inside.. Thanks for all the help. Any other ideas is welcome

I used a sohc zc and a si cable tranny. Pulled this straight from another car a slapped in into mine. I was driving mine before the swap so I know the bearings are all good. But I will try bolth of those ideas. I just tighten the nut with a socket wrench so its not realy on there. Could it be the axle?
ok after i checked behind the hub, all looked good. I tried another axle and had found out the shaft that fits into the hub has a bigger lip on it. I will post some pics. So i need to get another axle. Has anybody heard of this? I had thought all soch axles were the same..
did you remove the dust rings? you may not need an axle with a bigger lip if there is no dust ring.
Not removing the dust ring CAN cause the hub not to spin if the dust ring binds with the axle, contrary to what jhmed9 may say..

remove the dust ring and try again. it is uncommon for it to be the problem unless you are going b-series, then i have always had to remove it. pop the dust ring off and try again, no harm in that.
ive never seen or heard of a dust ring being a problem. all the bearings i've changed over the years i always put them back and never had a problem, or had someone tell me that it was a problem.
i wasn't trying to be ignorant on purpose, only helpful.
oh well stranger things have happened. if i ever have a similar problem i will keep it in mind...
