b17 with itr cams require tune?
hey guys. I have a basically stock b17 i/h/e and I was looking to get more power out of it without going too crazy. After looking around I found out that the b17 has the least aggressive cams out of the b series. I was looking into itr cams because I wouldnt have to get dual valve springs and retainers. If I did get itr cams would I need to get a tune. I know a tune is always a good idea but im kind of low on cash and dont have any kinda of ecu management. Just looking for some input thanks
FYI: You will see more gains overall from tuning stock GSR cams (engine management and cam gear tuning) than you would from dropping ITR cams in untuned.
this guy know his sh*t!!

a b16 with itr cams what kinda gains can u see from that with itr springs and retainers of course with a tune and any other benefits ie will the redline be higher or what?
always get a tune when putting performance parts on. dont matter if just i/h/e. you're changing the powerband, but thats in a perferct world. the world i live in(like most of us) dont have the money to spend on tuning every single time we upgrade something. thats why you make sure you get all the stuff you want and then tune.
anyways, i've been driving my jdm gsr w/ itr cams w/out a tune for a year and half now with no problems. also, i've been to the track 4 to 5 times but i'm not stupid like other people thinking they can rev to 9k rpm with a chipped ecu. i shift at the stock gsr redline(8200rpm). i could prob go alil longer but i'm not risking my motor for a couple hundred rpm.
