I have a 90 si that has a sohc zc bottem end with a y8 head and intake. It has a obd-0/1 conversion harness with a p06 ecu remapped and converted to vtec. I rebuilt the motor and was having coolant flow issuses so I replaced the water pump and when I did I touched the altenator with a wrench and ever since it has missed horribly and is running very rich. Also, my gauge cluster hasn't worked since.
I started by having the ecu checked, which tested out fine the guy even ran it in his car, replacing all the sensors I had extras of laying around (distributor, injectors, map and tps) and it still has the same problem. I pulled the engine wiring harness apart and looked over it thourgholy and saw nothin wrong. The only things I haven't tried yet are the cluster itself and the dash harness.
I was hoping someone may have some suggestions. I've been without my car for about a year now and have been forced to drive my gas-guzzler (454ss pickup) which I'm not complaining about, but I would like to drive the crx again soon

Check under the dash for the Alternator Solenoid Valve. It's fuse #14 on the panel. That is more than likely blown. Check that and let us know.

 

Ok I'll check that when I get to the house.

 

I forgot to mention I drained the gas and replaced it since it had been sitting for so long, tried to restart it again and now it would try to start but sputters and dies out it never will actually start.

 

take your alternator to get checked.. also check you battery fuse in your fuse box it should be a big 50-60 fuse its most likely blown..

 

I haven't had the alt tested but I have checked/ replaced the batt fuse in the box.

 

I checked the alt solenoid fuse and its good any other suggestions?

 

I guess im going to have the alt tested tonight when i get off. Im starting to think it is soething inside the car as i noticed my clock doesnt work either. Its really starting to bug me I know my luck it'll be something minor that im overlooking (or atleast i hope)

 

Have you checked all your fuses under the dash and hood? That is where I would start checking.

 

Yes I have checked all of them and none of them are bad.
