Default car misfires in the rain (with new plugwires)

Hey what up people,

I got a 93 Hatch with a LS in it. Last night it was raining like jumangi. And at first my car was straight but then it started to misfire hard. The car would idle ok but when load is place on the engine it starts to misfire. Ive recently replaced the sparkplug wires with some OEM wire. Anybody got any clue what it might be.

usually just changing wires wont do that, open the hood at night and see if theyre arching. Could be bad wires.

Check seal on Distributor Cap. During the rain it may have gotten moisture inside the cap which soaked the contacts.

Has the misfiring continued in dry weather?

water in the oxygen sensor???? the 02 is in your exhaust manifold/header and after the cat (on obd 2 cars).

How secure do the wire terminals fit over the ends of the plug and dizzy cap? Did you use dielectric grease (it's an insulator but where the metals contact it'll rub the grease off. The grease will be where the wire/terminal doesn't contact, keeping water and crap away from where they contact).

There is a possibility of the occasional retard part. OEM Honda parts, just like the crappy pos autozone cheap crap, is made by humans, or made by equipment made by humans. Humans aren't perfect, so how should we expect to make what people make to be perfect?

Cracked distributor cap? This can be very hard to see. Get a general auto repair guide with lots of pictures so you can see examples. Though in my experience once it is cracked and arcing it happens in dry weather too. Could be a bad coil, too. I don't know how to check that, but a shop should be able to do it easily.
