B16a1 my motor.... help out
So i have the 99 sir with b16a1 (em1). Now my car has 200k i dont like this, i have headers exhuast and intake so i should be kicking out a cool 180-190. Im looking for posible swaps or help with this half life engine. i have a b18b1 engine ready with 35km on it, but i was think to use the b20 block with b18b head and my b16 tranny. should i just keep the b16 motor and turbo or do the swap, or any swap? I have already thought bout the h22 but requires a kit for the b16 tranny which is 1500 american not including the cost of the motor. Should i try b18 swaps or do you guys have rocommendations? thanks for the help
why swaps head from a B20B to a B18B? They are the same head.
You should put the B16 head on the LS block and use B16 tranny. You get the best head, and a block with less miles.

both ls and b20 has more torque then the b16, i was in ur shoes about amonth ago, but i just decided to rebuilt my b16 and turbo it! dropping motor back in this weekend!!
b20's do have more torque. i personally would get the head redone(b16 head) and put on the b20 block with the b16 tranny.

LoL I was Making 195 on a B20Vtec with a Built Head and bolt-ons ecu upgrades. There's no way ur b16 is making that with bolt-ons. anyways, I agree with a couple people on here, build yourself an ls/vtec or b20vtec.
My friends 130ish thousand mile EM1 made 138whp 99 trq. with I/H/E. which i say is a slight bit more than a **** hair shy of 190. whoever is feeding you this info, from now on take it worth a grain of salt.

id pick a k series over g series any day. id even take a b series over g. I myself have a b16a1 in my crx and im runnin around 275whp all motor and wouldnt trade it for anything. I like the idea of B20 block with a B16 head though. but if you turbo your engine you will not be dissapointed
it all depends if you want to turbo the b16 you can make more hp then the ls vtec or b20 vtec, (which cost alot of money for a good kit, recommend synapse B series turbo kit). you could turbo the LS motor as well. or take the b16 head and it to the b18b block and make a ls vtec, look into what you plan on doing with the car and motor and how much money you have.
