Default slight issue when changing upper arms

One of my friends and I redid the upper and lower ball joints on my car the other day. I used oem lower ball joints but replaced the upper arms with a Skunk2 Pro series camber kit. When I went to replace the knuckle protector, the castle nut on the ball pin turned out to to be larger diameter than the stock one and I can't put the protector back on. Any solutions or should I just slather it with grease and forget about it? I don't like to reuse hardware.

I coated both sides with white lithium grease. Would this be an acceptable alternative to the actual protector or should I figure some way to put the protector piece back on?

no need to worry about the protector. all 92-up civics don't have it and they don't have any problems or worry's. so why should you.

Cool, just making sure. I'm still fairly new to this stuff.
