Default Better times with my B16 hatch!

Well just got back from the track. Was a little cooler tonight but still in the high 80's. Took the spare tire, jack, ect out of the car to lighten it up a little.
Best of 2 runs..

2.272 60ft
9.346 1/8th
76.60 mph

14.512 1/4
94.45 mph

Big jump in times for not doing much, previous best was 14.8. This was also done with no tps sensor hooked up (2nd replacement went out few days ago), and a leaking drivers side mount (new one in the mail).

Maybe i'll gut it next time and wait till it cools down but overall i'm very happy with the times.

Stock non lsd 93 b16 hydro tranny. Running on 16" kuhmo tires. I got a 2.2 60 ft on my first run and ran a 14.6 and the face to my cd player flew off. So I knew it was hooking better It was also at speedworld where it's supposed to be really slick so who knows.

No it's a 2nd gen motor. Yeah thanks for the mount! I may put some poly bushings in it here soon if I get the cash so it won't happen again!

what are you launching at, i have been having problems on my launch. same motor as you in a CX hatch, but i can't get any better than a 2.3 60' and thats on azenis. my best ET is a 15.0 i know if i get the 60' down i will be in the 14's. so whats your launching technique

I don't really launch at a certian RPM. I just kinda feel what the right launch should be and feather the rpm's at that. You gotta feel the car to be able to drive it, every car will launch different no matter what. Too many variables to work with. I believe I launch about 3500 and floor it when I drop the clutch so there is some forward momentum. Then if i'm spinning more than I want i'll let off a little, if it's hooking while spinning then i'm holding it down. Alot of people will shift if they spin into redline which then puts them into 2nd too early. If it's spinning still coming up on redline then let off a little and let it hook so you can catch 2nd in vtec and not bog.
This may work for you but it's hard to write how to launch and it's even harder to remember when the tree is lit

Went back to the track with a new mount and new plug wires tonight.

60ft 2.232
1/8th 9.281
mph 77.33
1/4 14.458
mph 94.96

Car keeps getting faster and faster. I've probably maxed out with the current combo but maybe with some cams i'll have a shot at 13's

I launch the same way as you. I dont have a tacho I just use the force...Muhahhah. My mate recons that I look at the floor when I leave the line like Im in some mad concentration trance hehehe (We lose more christmas trees this way)
To get into the 13's your gonna need another 3-4 mph. I dont know whether cams will get you there but good luck and keep us informed

I'm sure I can hit a 14.3 with the current setup on a cooler night so knocking off .3 tunned with some decent cams is not too far fetched. I knocked a half a second off the car already by removing the spare tire an driving it more (still only 7 runs so far). It runs faster every run so far so 13's is not too far out of reach.

Yep the hatch is white. I'm from the Titusville area, I just moved here 2 weeks ago.
