went to the track for the first time today
lets just say i was a little bit dissapointed.
i dont have the timeslip with me right now but i ran a 15.59 @ 89 mph with a SORRY 2.56 60 foot. i had craphoe ecstas 711's on and couldnt grip to save my life, even though i had them at 20 psi. i was pretty much fully gutted which was why i was so dissapointed
i drive a 2000 civic si internally stock b16 with itr lsd tranny
i/h/e no ps
i only got 2 runs because i got to the track late because i had to change my wheel studs (a few were stripped)
my second run i ran a 26.5 i misshifted second and couldnt get in gear at all...i thought i broke something. ugh anyway i know i could improve my times i just had to vent a little.

not that bad of a time for the car and what it has done to it. Might wanna invest in some stickier rubber to bring down that 60 ft time. your trap speed is showin you around a 15.2 range.

2.5 60's with LSD? you need some practice
even up here in Idaho we run faster that that with slightly modded SI and no lsd
with some practice i think you could get the 14's

Re: went to the track for the first time today (Heylookits shawn)
It's ok dude. The excitement of the first time, nerves, and pressure of your first time........on the track. It gets better over time. I ran a horrible 19 sec run the first time I went on a GSR turbo. I didn't even know how the light tree worked lol. plus i fouled by redlighting and then I didn't know what to do. ahhahah fun memories of a rookie.
But I got myself under control and finally ran a much improved 14.3 on the same day. My 60's were and are still terrible though, about 2.7 sec. Mind you that I have a coupe that is loaded with all things considered wrong on HT (body kit, 17" wheels, and audio system components), and I kept tire pressure stock plus a full tank of sunoco 94 and a full size 17" spare. Oh and my tires were definitely tired, for they were 4 year old Falken Ziex.
I was quite satisfied tho as I know I ran it exactly the way I have it on the street. The track has a way of putting up or shutting up bench racers, as the numbers speak in volumes.
It also created a desire and lust for newer higher end cars such as the BMW M3, who ran an easily repeatable 13.5 (285/55/18 tires+ 333 German bred HP+ rear wheel drive= ) or a suby WRX with its potent combo of turbo+all wheel drive that had an easier time laying down 14.2 sec times compared to my starved for traction 14.3 sec attempt.
But a fellow Honda enthusiast showed them all with a blistering traction limited 13.5 sec. I know that is still not considered real fast here on HT, but it's the only 13.5 sec car that I know of in this area that I have seen in action with my own eyes. Not some car far far away that only exists for me on HT or some other site. This car was real and in front of me. Something many of us still have to learn to appreciate. (some of teh recent "set up bashing" I've seen is just sad)
The sad thing about HT is that every kid can log on and claim that they ran a 14 sec pass with only I/H/E on a B16 or worse a D15/16.
I now know what skill and power it takes to take it into the 13 sec for real, not bench racing by adding parts together, etc. Everyone thinks that their skill level will be sufficient to make good passes. For me I just identified a .4 sec gap in skill level that is holding me from 13 sec et's. and with a 102 mph trap speed I know I will get there.
Fond memories of my first time on the track and I'm glad you too felt the pain and glory to come of the track.

haha thx man you made me feel alittle better about myself. i know if i got more than 2 passes i probably could have gotten my 60 foots down a little, but oh well. maybe next time. everyone told me that the track was alot different than on street but i guess i u nderestimated how different. its like night and day. new tires, cams and possible a poor mans type r setup in the future... once i get the funding
