Roll cage question!
wasup H-T! i searched here for what kind of roll cage i can put on my 90 civic si where it can let me still use the back sits for passenger. The reason of me asking this is because i know our car is like a tin can and even 15 mph crash can do a lot of damage on the car, i am kinda thinking of my safety when ever i drive. i am a pretty good driver not reckless but what i am worries is other driver that can hit me specially those trucks 0.o, i want something that if i car crashes to me and rolled over i can still get out of my car hehe. For me i really don't care how much i would spend but if it cost more than 1 k hmm i might have to think about buying it, also i need it where i can just bolt in and i don't have to take my back seats or door panel or anything like that. Do you guys think there is a roll cage out there that suits my situation. Oh and can you guys post up a pic of EF's that has roll cage in it too thanks guys.
I don't think you really want a roll cage in a car that's a DD. You might consider a roll bar, but you're not going to want to have passengers in the back with it installed. Also be sure to wrap it in the areas where your head could make contact, cause hitting it without a helmet on, it hurts like mad. Autopower sells a bolt in bar, kinda heavy, but fits pretty well with your interior in.
this looks like its about the only thing that you could use and still be able to have rear passengers. its more of a roll bar really

not really. these cars are light and crush easy. if you listen to anyone listen to TYSON, if you want safety then expect not to have passengers. that picture above would hurt the passengers if they were to hit there head. i respect you for wanting saftey, but this really isn't the way to go if wanting passengers.
i really think youre being overly cautious and paranoid.
im not saying a EF is entirely SAFE, up to current standards, but its not horrible dangerous either, compared to current civics even. i dunno, no hard facts, just an opinion i suppose. but ppl werent exactly dying in every crash in EF's. i know a few ppl that have totalled theirs and walked away. thankfully ive yet to know anyone who has died in one.

There are far worse cars out there, that's for sure.
Perhaps you should work more on collision prevention rather then just waiting for the car to save you once you've already smashed. Things like upgrading your tyres, and brake pads, driving slower, running with your lights on...

theres a site that sells a complete kit for 3 bills and they ship it to you, go n pay a guy like 50 or 75 or 100 bux to weld it in, n presto! you have a good cage
If you want safety in your EF, don't drive recklessly. Most accidents that you're not going to be able to do anything about (ie rear ended) , a roll bar/cage isn't going to do much for you. I might go as far as putting in a roll bar, it sits pretty close to the seat and would probably help a little in a side impact, but just be sure to wrap the thing.
As far as EF's being safe, I've had a friend get in a head-on with a semi truck at a combined speed of almost 100mph and basically walk away from it. That was in a bone stock CRX. I don't think that's the norm, but we're not driving around death traps.

I've gotten in two decent collisions, one being rear ended, the other was my front hitting a guard rail.
I hit the guard rail at no less that 55, and it didn't even touch my radiator.
And when I got rear ended it just cracked my bumper and bent my lcas.
I know in a roll-over it's a different story, but I think these cars are a little tougher than everyone thinks.
But I guess you could get one and just drive with a helmet....?

No crumple = no life.

Was a passenger in an EG that hit a guard rail going 50, radiator was fine. Hurt like a bitch though, had a bruise from the belt for a week. Not arguing your point, crumple is good, but I've experienced something similar.
LOL
yeah thanks for the advice guys, if i didnt ask this question i probably bought a roll bar or roll cage and let someone sit at the back. i am just going to drive it stock and drive safe and just buy a rex and fix it up.

It hit the passenger side of my bumper, not head on.
But either way, you know everything and this COULDN'T have happened.
Thanks for the input.
Here's a story for you.
I reversed into someone. I didn't die. The radiator didn't smash. The car must be much safer than i give it credit for.
