Default My New Orange Pumpkin 00' SI Project

Hey guys, im pretty new to the newer hondas usually got the CRX's...

after being out of the honda game for a year, i decided to jump back in, and got this 2000 SI
picked it up rather cheap..2.5k

The car was painted some metallic pumpkin orange, the paint job looks pretty legit, not my choice of color, i Prefer stock looks, BUTTT, like i said this was too cheap to pass up...

Its probably going to need a new motor, i already got one lined up for it.. If i cant get the one in it working correctly
the interior is pretty clean, previous owner tried to paint some of the interior, BEtter beleive im taking that out, putting all stock Oem interior pieces back in
Only change to the interior i was thinking about making
was switching the Clotch Front SI seats to LEather
and putting a new deck in it

for the exhaust he's got DC headers to what looked like a Straight pipe hooked up to a borla? idk, sounds like sh*t ...its coming off, im probably going to go with the Apexi WS ORR.. Megan? im not sure.. i want a REAL deep sounding exhaust not sure which route i wanna go..
Probably leave the motor itself stock, except the DC headers, and air intake with new air intake manifold

Gonna put some 15'' Slipstreams on it.. and i was THINKING.. of maybe putting that Orange lip trim on it? maybe? not 100% sure.. cause i dont know how well that stuff holds up when you scrub the rims..

It will also probably need a new trans.. but he's throwing in a new b16 trans with 50k miles on.. if it works or not who knows.. we'll see..

The guy is throwing in Abunch of extra parts, he has some flaming aftermarket front bumper on it, already got a stock one ordered to replace that riceness..

Ill post pictures up tomarrow when its Light out
only pic i got now is this one

**************EDIT*********** New pictures****
so you guys can see the horrific front bumper and my New toy i picked up, the 97 Red DX.. picked it up for 1800 as is... its pretty nice runs good, just needs a new clutch witch i got super clean ride.. almost 0 rust

Yah, the orange looks pretty good. Do something about those rims though. Not really feeling those. Plus the tail lights doesnt go with it that well

ill most likely keep it orange, just for the fact that paint on it is pretty pristine..

and ya, im def getting new rims

has anyone used that Lip Trim on rims before? how well does it stick cause i wanna get the 15'' Slipstreams all flat black then put the Orange Lip trim on it, i heard it works pretty good, but idk.. or should i just leave it all black?

My opinion keep it all black, dont want to mess up the rims ya know? but you can try it out if you want too. Probably look pretty good

ya know i thought i was gonna see a ricey POS to laugh at, and you've dissapointed me haha.

it doesn't really look bad, i guess you said the front bumper does but you've already ordered a new one. i'd keep the color until it starts to get chipped and beat up then go another route if you see fit. til then i'd rock it. what color was it originally?

For the exhaust, i'd go with the Apexi WS. it sounds good even on an N/A honda. I've always loved the Megan Drift Spec and i've owned several different ones for each of my cars, on several different applications. the only time it sounded bad was on a d-series n/a with no cat. B or D turbo it sounds awesome and all motor B it sounded decent still.

hahaha.. sorry to let you down

and it was originally red, im debating on if i wanna spray the front bumper i get or leave it black.. for awhile.. lol idk just something different.. cause my main focus right now is getting the motor running or the new motor swapped in it

the apexi WS sounds amazing on my friends 99 SI its deep and not ricey, but then i had a friend with a 95 EG b16 with a megan that sounded pretty good and deep too.. so idk
ill probably go with the apexi

The color you have looks very similar to Imola Orange Pearl which was an exclusive color for S2000's in Canada. I think its a very nice color and it seems like it was done professionally. Definitely get rid of all the rice stuff with OEM. I recommend going with the Apexi WS which has a nice low tone to it. The Megan will definitely sound deeper, but you'll eventually get annoyed with it I think. Overall, great start. Check out the links for more on the color.

That orange looks nice OP lol, I like it, tt's different. Shaved mouldings look good too.

Also, I wouldn't change out the exhaust JUST yet. It has the potential to sound good. Just get a catalytic converter and see how it sounds from there. I'm sure you can pick up a cheap OEM one If you're looking for a nice quite DD exhaust the Apexi WS would do. It's the same I got on my car

Other than that, post updates when you change the car!

idk i had one, twin turbo. theres problem with the front ends fallin apart with too much power. i sold it for 12g's 6 months later it happened, sucks she was sexy. i liked it but rather s13-15's, and the 300 doesnt compare to em at all. and the best nissan IS a skyline, hands down...

I don't know, I kind of like the front bumper. Stuff is only "rice" or uncool because everyone is on the JDM bandwagon. As soon as the style changes you will be "rice" for having your car look JDM. Rock what you got. With that said, there are a few styles that I don't like; the body kits can get crazy ugly fast.
