Default bought painted rims, back to original?

I recently bought a set of si wheels and they were painted bronze. Is there any way to get them back to the original polished look?

You could use aluminum paint stripper on them. But you may have to re-clear the wheels after.

Ive used that stuff before and it eats through plastic like crazy. thats a great idea but will it eat through the tires? Ive never polished wheels before should I use steel wool or some thing else? what about a drill with a metal brush wheel?
