Default Lower Rev Limiter

Hi I'm new to the forum - so bear with me.

I have a 2004 RSX Type S, I wanted to let my son drive it but wanted him to get used to it before he had all the power on tap. Is there an easy way to detune the engine - either by lowering the rev limiter to 6000 rpm and if so what's the easiest way to lower the rev limiter. If there is another way to detune any suggestions would be appreciated.

THANKS!

buy hondata k-pro, upload stock tune, change rev limit to 6000, which if left alone should very well knock vtec out of the picture for him as well. this will cost you 880 some dollars to purchase from clubrsx.com after the instant rebate. and requires you to send your ecu into hondata, your car will be down untill the ecu is returned, when recieved by hondata it is next day shiped back to you. more information here,

http://www.clubrsx.com/cr/HD-KPRO.html

this system is used by us to tune these vehicles when modified, but can also be used to do what your asking.

also note that if hes not good a stick prolly not the best car to be driving, you can also threaten his life if he abuses the car, also tell him that the car is not fast and will not beat things like civic, and other cars people his age want to race. if he thinks it wont win he wont try. or he might.
