Default Help me deside. motor swap Q.

ok so this is the deal. i own a 96 civic dx hatch. im going down tomorrow morning to japan star motor to pick up a complete swap. my original plan is to pick up a 96 itr b18c5 complete swap. but the more i talk to my friend about it the more he tells me to go with the ctr b16b due to ease of install. im planning on picking the motor up on monday and having it in and running on sunday. so can some1 help me out and tell me if the ITR swap is alot harder or no. please help me out cuz im going down tomorrow before noon with cash for the swap. thanks in advance guys

*Edit- i know the ITR is a lil more pricey for the complete swap. but im not too worried bout it cuz that was my original plan anyway. i figured id state that so ppl dont say to just go with the cheaper option.

In addition to what was said above, I wouldn't let your friend help install the new motor. If he really told you that, he doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to Hondas.... Good luck!

well i went to japan star. and was allmost commited to buying an ITR when i took a look around and found a set of ITR red recaros. so long story short i talked the owner into selling me the b16b complete swap and the ITR seats for $3500. so i made out pretty good seeing how the original price of the b16b was 3400 and he told me 3 grand cash and its mine. so all in all its like getting the recaros for $100!

x2.

Should have just waited on the seats. You can get seats any time. Its not a huge investment. But the engine on the other hand is a big choice, and I think you may have made the wrong one. I would have even gone GSR over the B16b. If you wanted to save money that would have been an even better option.

Take it back if you can. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you haven't done anything to it yet. Seats or not 3000 for any b16 is no good. Hope you make the best out of this.
