Can anyone convince me NOT to buy a 2000 Civic Si?
Ok I am very close to buying a 2000 Civic Si. It's EBP with a spoiler, CD, and only 23k miles... selling for 12 grand.
Now I know that is a phenominal price, at least for my area, but I've never been huge into B16's and I'm wondering what could/should stop my from buying this car?
It's all stock by the way, but it has a salvage title, can someone help me out?

oh damn 12k and salvaged? No thanks. I didn`t notice it was slavaged. You can probably find a 99 Si w/ a clean title for that amount.

personally I would go with an eg hatch with a swap
better performance, better financial decision, less annoyance from ricers, looks better (imo), 5-lug conversion and Tein's and you'll outhandle God, I could go on but you get the point.
I think its overpriced for a salvage title. Just remember if you ever try to re-sell you will be taking a major hit...
I second the vote for a hb with a swap....and with that budget you can get one thats had the engine built, turbo, all-motor, whatever you want....I say screw the car with the salvaged title, you never know what its been through. If you are set on a 99-00 si, atleast get a clean one.
It makes a nice daily driver. I have a 99 Si as my 2nd car and its been treating me fairly well. But damn for 12k and salvaged.. ****... I would sell you mines for 12k if you are interested and mines is super clean.
That's too much for a car with a salvage title. You should be able to find a good deal on one without a salvage title.

...now if you find a drivertrain from a 00SI...

id say go for it ...its a nice car..i think the color is kinda tacky looking cause its played out but the car is nice....if it wasnt salvaged it would be a good price ...but for that money you can do better...
Like everyone else says, salvage title =
ESPECIALLY for that price...
I understand why salvaged titles are bad, but what about rebuilt ones? Are those just as bad? I was looking at a car and the title says it's rebuilt but it looks ok and it's against the law to sell a car with a compromised frame so it can't be too bad... or can it? I dont know what it takes to have a rebuilt title... I'm lost here
or am I just being stupid... again...

12grand for a salvaged si is definitely not worth it. A 2yr old car needs to go through some pretty bad damage to get a salvage title. Dont rush into anything and get ripped off.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.
