Default Knock sensor

Okay so cel was on. Said it was the knock sensor. Took out the old one to find it was trash so I put a new one in, but the dude who put it in messed up the wiring so we brought it back to him to fix. He reset the cel so it was off for a day. Literally 24 hours of driving time then bam it's on again, code that's being thrown again is the knock sensor. Checked the wiring and it's fine. Checked for any actual knocks and nope no sign of knocking or anything. Does this mean problem with the wiring still?

Sounds like wiring, hwo did that dude mess up the wiring? did he ripped it and just twisted the ends together and black tape it? It could be the where the wire is going into the plug, my friend's knock sensor plug was ripped a bit at the plug, and when he got oil on it, it somehow grounded out and cause the CEL to go on.

yeah when he took the old one out to put in the new the wiring I guess got ripped and taped it together I'm thinking that it wasn't very good taping either cause it was fine for a bit like I said then went bad. During a rainy night too so could have been water got up there into it causing the cel. I don't know but yeah the more I look into seems to be the wiring.

Bad wiring job. You need to make sure it's re-done right. Just tape isn't going to cut it back there, since it gets extremly hot. My old knock sensor was fried, and literally broke into pieces when I took it off. I out in a new one, but now that I think about it, I probably should have wrapped it in some kind of head shielding.
