Like the title says:
Can a ABS Problem on a '98 GSR cause the car to die?

I've been getting interminite ABS lights while driving that go away after I re-start the car for a month now. Pulled 3 codes including the right-front speed sensor and two others that I cant remeber. (Somthing with the rear wheels....) Anyway, I was driving on the highway yesterday and the car simply died. ABS light came on and right away the motor no longer wanted to go. It just died. I really thought the Timing Belt snapped.

Pulled off and the car WOULD NOT START. It was turning over but it never would start. Battary was fine. Got it towed to a shop and after about 3 hours of sitting the car started right up. No lights - no problems.... What the Hell???

Mechanic thinks its the distribter and the ABS light was a coincidence... thoughts?

 

I doubt abs problem would cause your to die, abs is something of it's own and is PITA to fix if something goes wrong. I agree with the mechanic is was the distributor, but not the whole dizzy, maybe just ignition coil.

 

Yea... I'm leaning toward that as well... it just is a big coincidence i guess. i'd just hate to replace the coil and have the same problem again and get stranded... These Integras as getting too old hah
