New member 92 civic.
Hi, new to community and my first car is gonna be a 92 Honda civic next week.
I have seen a few but my eyes on this 2 civics that I really liked. One is 2 dr coupe silver and other is a 92 red hatchback.
I've seen lots of turbo hatches and less 2/4 dr turbo civics. My question is that if it is easier to turbo a hatch, then I'll just buy a hatch. Also, there are two kind of turbos, ppl say that the one with the belt is more reliable then the one with out the belt. Your advice is well come. My budget is $2000 for the turbo kit. I would like to skip all the 4 stages and get straight to stage 5 upgrades.
What do you all say?
thanks.
Tiffany.

Hey, before you post anything else on here go to the search section. Theres a "how to" on the to of this forum. Try not to use lingo from any of The Fast and The Furious movies...not to sound mean but it makes you sound very ignorant about what your talking about. Any civic will be just as easy/hard to work with, just look through the forums and SEARCH and you will be ok....maybe lol
By the way a turbo is spooled by exhaust, no belt, and a SUPERCHARGER is spooled with a belt.

they both have same function right, I mean they share the word charger. So is the belt charger more reliable then the exhaust charger.
First of all shes a noob, second of all shes a chick... chill out. And as far as her sounding ignorant... she is ignorant, she stated this is her first civic and she wants to learn, and what is ignorance? thats right, not knowing something. People on here are dicks.. they think they know it all, and im sure they do lmao. But im going to agree with MHDesigns and say definitely keep anything Fast and the Furious related out of here lol.
As far as your question, superchargers are nice and add power throughout the entire RPM range, but in the long run a Turbo setup will net you more power as long as your build the motor for boost.
and welcome to HT

I second that Fear.
basically said, Turbochargers give better performance at higher RPMs being that that have to spool from your exhaust. Top end from a turbo is usually significantly higher than that of a super charger provided your engine can handle the boost you are throwing into it.
Superchargers give you more at low rpms thus fast accelin in a 0~60 scenario or something but otherwise not worth the money you will be spending to get the thing.
Turbo simply > super
