Ive had my car since march has New raditor and all new hoses all oem honda w/ slim fan. Just recently it has started to over heat. At first when it started to over hear i was driving it it would get kinda high then drop way down. Now it keeps getting higher and turning the heat on doesnt help either. What is it the thermostat? The weather just started getting 90+ never had a problem before in 60-80 degree weather.

 

Does it only over heat when you're stopped then go back down when you start moving? If it over heats when you moving, my bet would be the thermostat. Its the thing that opens when the car is warmed up to let cool fluid into the block. Easy fix on a honda. If it overheats only when ur stopped and u know that you're fan works, its the fan switch. Thats a fun project.

 

sounds like temperature sensor went bad. Check on that, are you bowing white smoke or coolant bubbling?

 

Had this problem with my ef. My radiator fan wasn't spinning and the car did the same thing. I hot wired the fan to spin all the time and it stopped overheating.

 

if its overheating constantly when ur stopped and when ur movin check th head gasket. ive had one blow on me before n my car overheated.
