a buddy of mine is considering to buy a b18c1 motor but no vin number is intact. the owner of the motor said that its clean and he ran the i.d. number right under the b18c1 stamp and supposedly, it came out clean. now his options are said to be that, 1. obtian a b series vin number. but my concern is that, does the vin number share any relation to the i.d. stamp?
2. get a new block (no money). please help..

Have a cop or high way patrol do the search. Was your friend there when he "ran" the numbers? I dont think the numbers under the b18c1 has any relations to the vin, but i can be wrong. If he has money to buy a b18c1 he should have money to buy a block.
