Is it a good ideah changing the stock 1st gear (3.23) to the aftermarket (3.07). Just wanting some feedback on the pros and cons of the 1st gear swap with the 4.92. I'm supposing it's to illiminate wheel spin from 1st being geared too short in 1st?
Opinions?

I guess a lot would depend on what the car is being used for and what power is actually being put down.
I just finished up replacing 3rd and 4th gear synchros in a 4.9 FD ITR trans that I did about a year or two ago from a friend's USDM ITR. 1st feels fine with 190 whp. To me there isn't really a huge need to go to a 3.07 for this car unless it had much more power and was drag racing. It is used primarily for road racing from time to time, where first isn't used very often.

Yup, just depends on application. If you are drag racing, then I would recommend it. Otherwise, if it is just street, then you should be fine as you shouldn't be hammering it in 1st anyway on the street

Occasional track use but mostly just a street car. I have really enjoyed your gear calculator. Thanks guys.
