1987 Honda CRX SI Help please
Ok, so ive just gotten my self to a point where i am able to do things with my car. It was sitting for about a year but is running now. Id like to put this car on the track and ultimately have it lose to no vehicle ever. This project will take a while but i will settle for nothing less. It currently has a d15a3 in it. Im looking into replacing it with a b18. But to be 100% honest i dont know anything about this, what i need, which b18 to use or anything else i should be looking to change. My dad isnt a mechanic but it is something that highly interests me as a hobby so id like to learn so if you have any help please be descriptive. Any help is welcome. Thank you guys.
Also, if it would be better to leave this car the way it is and get a newer crx to do these types of upgrades to id like to know that as well.

My thoughts are an 87 CRX SI would be a sexy original restoration. If you want a track car i would head to a 2nd gen CRX or even a 92-95 Civic hatch. A wider selection of parts for sure. May make it easyer to move the project forward. Post some pics of it, might even be interested in purchasing it if you decide to go to a newer one
i am unable to get pics up yet, i will soon. the body is in fairly good condition. 1 dent on the door, needs a new header pannel..the damn plastic cracked and over time the crack broke off. and the hood has several small dents. there is 1 spot of rust on it its very small and could be covered by a quarter at the top of the rear wheel well where all these cars seem to rust. Ill get pics up asap though.
try this website ***************.com you will find all the information you need
if i was you i would keep the crx you have and do the b swap, and nitrous that engine
you dont need a lot of power on these crx cause they are so light, yeah it will be expensive but even on the newer honda it will be expensive, but is up to you
