Hey guys I'm in Portland and just started looking for a 97 R on Saturday. Just found this post. I've been reading the boards all weekend and am getting an idea of just how scarce parts can be.
Please help me out and tell me what I'd be up against to rebuild her with regard to sourcing parts. I have no prob searching but the meter is running and need a crash course. If jdm motors are available, I can get that (I've got a supplier for sr20dets, yes I'm a Nissan guy). I want the jdm front with the entire red seat package but know the seats are very rare and are Can. only and JDM? What about door panels? Probably can't replace the arm rest with # right?
I'm going to register for ridesafely tomorrow and try to find out about suspension/brakes but I'm sure they're gone.
Is it really worth it? Aside from the fact that it is one of the chosen ones, isn't it a stripped down integra at this point? I mean it needs everything!
If it seems doable and there's good reason for it, then I'll drive and tow it back. I'm very serious unless it's cost prohibative to end up with a salvaged titled car when I could just buy yours
Please, there's only 22 hrs left. Thoughts?

since it appears all the body panels are intact, that's good.. some of the 97 specific parts can be pretty hard to find though.. I would estimate somewhere around $7,000 in costs to put it back to OEM stock. If you want things like a JDM front end, the cost goes up from there. It can be done cheaper, if you were prepared to wait as long as you needed to to find the best deals on parts.. that takes a lot of time and patience though.
Shat sort of parts are specific to 97 and the R that this needs? Are the door panels, steering wheel R specific? I know the cluster and five lug conversion are. Can these all be purchased new or is it going to be a waiting game with the classified section?
jdm itr swap $3500
jdm red recaro seats $800
5lug if needed $1000
exhaust $400 for a ws2 from sponsor on the forum
we're around $6k with the larger stuff. we still haven't figured in any performance shocks, springs or nick nacks. if you do the HID JDM front that's another $1500-1800

ridesafely is a rip off too they try to sell stuff before even buying it at Copart. I hope they weren't the highest bidders. you guys should have just found a friend with a dealer license to bid on it for you on the "real" auction. however I hate Copart they are the biggest crooks on the planet
