Default Help! Car ran hot and now idle is off

The car is an 88 Prelude S. Here's the situation.....
It broke the timing belt, we replaced the belt and all was fine. Then the car ran hot (not sure how hot since I wasn't driving) and wouldn't start. After it cooled off, it started up but the idle is flucuating up and down. I first thought that it had either blown the head gasket or cracked the head but it doesn't have any coolant/oil mix.

Thanks,

Josh

Most likey head gasket, their would not be oil/coolent mix. Very easy to check, esp on a SOHC.

If not, fix your coolent problem and fill with honda type 2 -- damn I am avertising this stuff like crazy -- well, it cools sooo much better and premixed. Hondas' the ****.

Yea I've heard that once the Eng temp sensor has got to hot it's f..ked and therefore buggers about with the idle speed and can stop VTEC from working, so change and try again....
