I know it probably wasn't your fault. But the dealer most likely would consider this driver error. Sadly it's one of those things where even though sometimes it's hard to tell how deep certain puddles are, the dealer will still blame it on you.
If I were you I would contact your insurance company and see if you can get the matter resolved through them. You might have more luck with them.
Good luck buddy!

i would go through insurance.
but sometimes insurance will pin hydrolock on
driver error depending on who your insurance is.
but good luck.
you should swap a k20a in there.

its funny but i never told them it was water that mest up my engine there saying the problem was caused cause a they think i was downshifting not cause water when in the motor lol so idk wat there gonna do bout it
driver error or not comprehensive coverage covers hydrolock, pay your deductible and get a new motor. If you run into a snag contact an attorney. Too bad we don't have the whole story.
^ This. But since the vehicle was moving it will be a at fault accident on his record which will make his insurance go up. Also, since there was no police report within 48 hours he might have some issues getting the insurance company to pay out.

you have mods? was the water high enough to enter the stock air intake? was the puddle deep enough cover 1/2 the front wheel? I thought the stock box had a drain for this issue not sure. maybey the cold water hiting your hot block is what made the crack, if thats the case it could happen to anyone of us. honda may fix it but it depands on your milege. I say stuff to honda like you guys build such great pruducts I have puchased 3 civics and many motorcycle from you. I feel that I am great customer and cant begin to beleave that you guys wont help with this issue. this could have happend to anyone and honda has alot more money than me, I would think honda would like to keep me as a future customer by standing behind its product after all you are one of the top car companies in the US for customer suport satisfaction. that just me I like to buildem up than ask whay they would let me down. good luck
