Default Please help. Stupid problem.

Took my stock head unit out of my 01 ITR to re-adjust it, unplugged the antenna and the power source cables to completly remove it from the car. Went to put it back in the car 5 minutes later and I have an ERROR message. It wants a code to put in that I cannot find. I need the code to use the headunit. I browsed through the owners manual, read just about everything from how to put a CD in to how to listen to it.

Stupidly, I tried just putting in any code about three times, it now says Errr-3, according to the owners manual I need to consult my Acura dealer.

Anyone know where else I can get this code from, or is there a general code for it? Thaks guys

That sucks, I don't feel like dealing with all the techs at the dealer " is that a real type r"

Will the dealer charge me to fix this?

You can just call, they'll ask for the vin. They'll consult their database and give you the code to your headunit.

VIN AND the SN from the back of the head unit. Some dealerships will tell you, you have to come in. If the one you call does, call another one.

But you will need both the VIN from the car, and the SN on the back of the headunit.

After calling Honda and going though numbers 1-9, guessing the last digit of the serial number (last digit was torn off), i had the glove box open and saw that exact sticker...

The dealer couldn't help me so they gave me the number to Honda USA...

I'm not really friends with that kid and he's a tech at Honda, at his dealership they don't have access to the Acura VIN database.. it's kinda bullshit.

Check for the sticker with the code on the underside of the ashtray, a number of dealers put the sticker with the code there..

i work for american honda and deal with the radio codes everyday.
-turn your key to the ACC position (first click)
-turn off your radio.
-press and hold 1 & 6
-while holding down those two.. press the power button
-radio should display U _ _ _ _ then switch to L _ _ _ _
-give me those 8 numbers, and ill give your radio code.
(this is for vehicles that's 2001 and up)
goodluck
