Balance shaft ?
Hi
Did a search but cant find the the info i need, I purchased a balance shaft removal it from Kaizenspeed, at the moment my motor is on a engine stand. In the instruction the motor the install is being done on is bare, what I'd like 2 know is does the crank, rods ect needd 2 be removed. What else needs 2 be replaced? It just seems as if its such an effort 2 install!

to install the solid dowels in place of the hollow ones, you'll need to remove the girdle and main caps. you've also got to drill out and tap a hole an inch away from the crank journals... you can do it if your carefull, but i took my crankshaft out.
as far as what needs to be replaced... i would go ahead and replace any seals you have to pull out, or can get to easily (rear main, front crank seal, oil pan gasket and oil-pump pickup tube gasket.. to name a few). otherwise, it should be in your kit! plugs, block off plate...
i'm not sure what Kaizenspeed recommends, but it would be good to use a new rear B-shaft housing o-ring. you may be able to get away with some RTV or Hondabond, but the groove for the o-ring is already there...
