you have no power steering right? the most recent set of pics on your site show no power steering. which exhaust manifold is that? love the site btw! how bout posting the dyno plot?
Nice site but I think you have a little to much time on your hands.
dogpile5: Yep, no power steering. I pulled it out when I did the swap. The exhaust manifold is the stock 99 Civic Si one. I'll post the plot when I get home, probably by this weekend for sure. Need to add a section to the site for dyno data.....oooh, more time

No. IMO, the stock knock sensor is pretty much useless unless you happen to put some 87 octane in and run at redline for hours on end. I wouldn't rely on it to save the car.
The hondata map is pretty safe, giving a WOT a/f of ~12.1:1 Detonation is pretty unlikely, especially on 93 octane.
When I go FI, I'll likely end up with an aftermarket retard system, such as J&S or whatever. So far I've put on 20k miles since the swap and not a single problem (aside from the stupid IAT sensor trying to fall out of the intake tube).
You could use the P30 (del Sol VTEC) ECU, which would give you the knock sensor, but I a) already had the P28, and b) couldn't find a P30 for a reasonable price.

i'm decided a while ago i wasn't going to worry about the knock sensor unless i went FI. got 30k on my swap and no problems so far, (other than the person driving it sometimes)
