Stumbled on a fix, my 95 Accord I bought 2 weeks ago had a broken odometer/trip...tried the pushing of the trip reset fix, no go. Then I noticed that the odometer had stopped at about 145999, and thought maybe it had to do with a service interval. Pushed the service reset button couple of times, and now odometer works!
Saved me buying a new cluster...but it might have been fun to learn the disassembly process...
