So i just finished my swap and its all good, except my 3 grinds if i dont shift slowly and perfectly. Since my clutch is almost out of spec i was thinking of getting a new trans since i got to do an R&R on the clutch. I do alot of highway driving but i also want some pep to my first few gears what should i look 4?

 

missing alot of things hydro?B,D,H,K,F series motor? NA or BOOST?

 

if its a b, si trans has close ratios but sucks for highway driving. mine revs at 4400rpms at 80mph. i have heard of people swaping out 5th gear for a taller one tho

 

yea you can put the LS 5th in the B16 so your not high in 5th.

i got mine through a japenese importer for $1000 with axles and its um... both wheels spin at once... god im brain dead. Mines a type R though (b16B)

this is a calculator for gear ratio to speed at what ever rpm.. the S21 (B16a) trans is already in the "transmission 1" spot

I got my b16a trans for 750 from a shop but if I didn't want a receipt it would have only been 700. I'm sure you can find one cheaper from a regular person 400-500 but you never know how people are, they can scam you and give you a messed up trans.

 

yea the S21 (wich is the type r trans) at 5k is at about 95mph (and is ONE of the lowest geared trans honda makes) so unless you have like 8in wheels with low pros your not gonna be doin 65 at 5k

 

at 80 mph...

GSR = 3900rpm
B16 = 4400rpm
B18C5 = 4400rpm
JDM ITR (4.7FD) = 5000rpm

Those numbers are from personal experience, but the JDM ITR figure is hearsay.

 

both the jdm itr (S80) and the jdm b16a (S21) are gonna be AROUND the same rpm (4300) at 80mph
