Does anybody have recommendations for jackets to wear while riding in the summer? I want something that offers good protection but won't get too hot while riding in the sun.

 

pretty much any textile jacket will be good. I have the Joe Rocket Team Kawi Jacket and its great

 

x2^ i have a joe rocket textile and they brethe really well, and they have a wind breaker liner that is removable for the summer but keeps you warmer in the winter. i paid $189 for it. also the pads saved my *** when i crashed

 

Perforated leather works well when you're moving. All jackets are gonna heat up when you're at a stop.

Depending on what kind of riding you plan on doing, you could get away with soaking a t-shirt in water and wearing that underneath your jacket. Or, ice in slightly punctured ziplock bags in your pockets works too. Those bandannas soaked in water and wrapped around your neck helps.

I have one of those firstgear mesh jackets, keeps me cool enough on hot humid days. I've got matching mesh pants too but I have yet to try those out.
