i have a 99 b16a and the vss was bad.
i swapped in my 98 gsr vss just to see if that was the problem and it worked.
i also have a 98 LS vss that i was going to put in the b16.
so when i put it in, it didn't work (and i know it works cuz it came off of a running/working car).
i coulda swore i read somewhere that they're the same/compatible.
once i swapped back in the gsr vss the speedo worked again.
any ideas on whats the matter.
are these not compatable?

I used a ys1 ls vss on my y1 b16 tranny. it didn't work at first but then noticed that the cable that goes into the vss wasn't in all the way. you have to push a little harder

 

talkin about hydro trannys. thanks for the input tho.

 

oh, my bad. Those look electronic lol. I've always had cable trannies

 

haha yea. i just put a spare d series in it. and its fine. maybe just a band connection with the ls one. o well. end thread.

 

i got a question and dont wana make a thread.. will a deseries sensor work on a ls tranny?
