My good old 91 civic is missing pretty bad. The funny thing is that if I feather the gas pedal just right it runs normal again for a few seconds then it misses bad again. I checked plugs, wires, cap rotor and all looks good-no check engine light is on so I'm not sure what direction to go in-any ideas guys?? thanks

 

Dirty fuel filter?
When was it last changed?

You could also check the distributer by swapping it with a working one.

Have you done anything under the hood recently? If you were bending wires around start the car in the dark and look under the hood to find electrical shorts.

 

^^ yea definatly replace the filter. if youve never changed it, or cant remember the last time you changed it, it's been too long.

any oil in the dist. cap when you took off the old one? also check the injectors.

 

Could be water in the dizzy cap

 

Dizzy cap is is fine-fuel filter replaced 2-3 summers ago-

How does one check the injectors? It may be fuel related.

Possibly a stupid answer, but what about spark plug gap?

put a noid on the injector connections and you should see pulses. if it just blinks real quick then they arent any good. or you could pull em one at a time and see what the spray looks like. but dont blow yourself up.
