i took the y8 head off because it was running like crap and put the y7 back on and it runs like it used to....except now there is oil dripping from the intake filter and when you pull the dipstick out there is an oily vapor coming out.

1. Is this oil possibly residual from the y8 having bad valve seals/seats, and the compression was pushing the oil into the intake.
2. Is it possible that my rings are bad....only 2 years old...but the compression is higher than stock.
3. Is it possible that the piston skirts are wearing
4. could it be a bad pcv causing the oily vapor from the dipstick tube.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I was thinking PCV valve before I read your post so I would try replacing it with a new one and see if that changes anything.

 

I'd start with a pcv, and maybe flush the engine.

 

well as ive been driving it...it seems that the oil is less and less.....i'm thinking whatever soaked into the filter from the bad head is just slowly dripping away....i'll do the pcv sometime this week and go from there.....i need to quit dicking with this motor, everytime i get a whim to try something different. thanks guys.
