38 mpg in a hx?
ok i own a 97 hx 5 speed and ive had the car a few months and ive been averaging 38mpg. ive read some people are getting close to 50mpg, how is that? what could cause me to only get 38 when other people get close to 50? thanks
One of the biggest factors towards MPG is driving style...other than that, have the air/fuel filters been replaced recently? Have you checked the timing? A regular tuneup can do wonders for mileage.
i always drive farily easy, shift around 3,000-3,400 rpms. rarely go past 5k rpm. i havent checked my timing yet. recently changed my airfilter. yeah i just need to do a tune up and then check the mileage again. thanks
tire pressure, check that there are no dragging brakes that need adjustment or replacement, air filter, spark plugs worn out, plug wires, disty cap and rotor may be worn,
lots of things to consider.
