Default EK D.A.P styling/wheel paint advice **UPDATE**

My wheels look ok in this photo, but on inspection are in need of a refurb. And the silver gets dirty quickly.

anyone think i should..

(a) leave them silver

(b) paint the spokes black

(c) paint/coat them all black

yes, the front tyre was soft here and it sat real low on crap egay adj. springs.

Also, I like the look of EK's with black painted headlight housings, but i cant find a pic of a D.A.P EK with them, everyone seems to like chrome with the reflectors still in?
Im not sure if black/gunmetal lights will look cheapo or cool with my paint colour. any advice appreciated.

for the wheels or the headlights?
I only used Microsoft Paint for these and i'd say any other colour, or an attempt at the headlights, would look cat!
think i know what you're getting at though.

for both! gunmetal looks sick on black cars... and if yu can do your headlights gunmetal too it'd be something a lil bit different than others

i say save yourself some time and money and not paint the wheels.
just get a new set of wheels.

I've always thought black wheels look too much like steelies when you are driving. Never been a huge fan. If you have some baller calipers in a color like red green or blue it brings a bit of color. But black wheels are kinda blah to me. I'd keep them how they are now.

Thanks for the input! The car is actually the dark purple (dark amethyst pearl). I have'nt got a good pic of it yet

Yeah the all black wheels look a bit like steels in this mock up, but im still liking the look with the dark purple!
i suppose if i did it with spray cans, i could do the spokes first and see how that looks. spray would be easy to touch up and easier to remove than powdercoat if i ever want to change colour again.

Yeah an EK4 SiR, i got it from Japan with 97,000 kms on it, i suppose its handy we drive on the left here too! JDM imports are popular in Ireland for as long as i can remember.
i was planning a conversion on my EG3 from all the stuff on H-T but it worked out easier to get this one 'ready-made'.
its a lovely car with the B16A, the power is great fun already and i didnt change the spark plugs and air filter in it until i get a chance this week.
it still has the JDM 180km/h speed limit fitted.

I should do a post on how the car got from Japan to my door, and maybe some of the process, it was interesting to me anyway!

I know but it was so inexpensive I had to give it a try, I think some shade of gold might be nice on the wheels too but i'll see how it goes

not feelin the 17's on a ek4. go with something more oem like a 15 or 16. just my opinion. polished slips would set that car off.

You're right, first time I saw the car i said whats he doin' with those on it?! And i've had problems with arches rubbing all the time. I would have went 16's myself I think.
Well I'm stuck with these until I have the spare cash to upgrade, unless i can find someone willing to swap, or sell these one's first.

Thanks for the input guys
