Default No 1st or 2nd gear in b16 tranny. Shift linkage?

I busted my b16 transmission case a few weeks ago in my hatch. I finally got a new case and put it all back together. Now 3rd gear is where first should be and it is like 1st and 2nd are just missing. I am thinking the linkage was bent when I busted my tranny but it looks fine. I don't know how to cut up a new integra linkage so I was hoping it is some other stupid problem. Anybody ever had this problem?

How are the bushings in the shifter? Is it real sloppy?

You may want to check the stabilizer bar, with the round mount and the little cup with a bolt that holds it to the trans. I'v had one of those bolts loose that holds that on the trans and 3rd is where first is etc. I would check that first. Good Luck

It doesn't really shift sloppy at all. Not that I can tell anyway. I will get back under the car tomorrow and check all the bolts. I am not so sure I know what stabilizer bar you are talking about.

Well all the bolts are good. I would just order a new linkage made to fit but I am afraid that the problem may be something else. We used a print-out when we put the internals in the transmission but could something be wrong inside the tranny? I would hate to take it back apart. Could the hasport converter be causing this?

Repairing a tranny takes very meticulous organization. It is very possible you switched them to around. Is 1st gear possibly some where else in the trans? Try going through the gears and see if the gears are swapped.

I was thinking the gears were swapped as well. I have 3rd 4th 5th and reverse but they are in the wrong place. If I move the shifter like I was going to put it in reverse or 5th it won't go.

Should I order the linkage or not? Any other suggestions to look at first?

I tried that but I don't know what gear is what when using a screwdriver. Is there a tutorial anywhere?

Can anyone suggest which linkage to buy? Avid, Hasport or any other brands? I have hasport mounts if that matters.

My car is looking sad with grass growing all around it. Help me get it back on the road.
