I have a 90 integra making a weird whistling sound. The sound is constant and seems like it is comming from the Intake Manifold....I have already replaced all vaccum hose. Anyone have any other ideads

 

does it have an aftermarket intake? Does this occur during acceleration? If you answered yes to both of these questions; the whistling sound is normal.

 

LOL well i know this thanks though it happeneds all the time and it don't sound like air going through the intake its way louder it sounds like a tea pot

 

is there any surging through the rpms? Any CEL or does it cause any lag? Also is your window up all the way while driving? if it is its probably air coming through the window. Its probably from a ripped or cracked weather strip.

 

When you punch it the sounds goes away. No lag though no it comming from the engine for sure really sounds like it comming from intake mani

 

bake booster? Is your intake manifold stock or aftermarket? any surging?

 

Stock.... i sprayed fluid on it didn't see any bubbling

 

is normal dude if u want it to go away adjust ur idle screw for it to idle higher and itll go away.
i play w mine lol.
the downside to no whistle is a lil more gas tho

 

Hmmmm...Its weird cause it just came from nowhere one day i will try that thanks.....another ideas please post.....some told me it could possibly be a intake valve

 

Intake valve as in butterfly valve? Is the sound doing anything mechanically wrong? If not just try to live with i suppose, or just turn up the volume on your radio. lol

 

try that im almost 100% sure its that. and it doesnt happen on every car because their idle screw is not set up identically.
it should be directly above the TB

lol that's funny my intake does the same thing i have a injen intake i had it on for like 3 mouths and one day i parked it then start it up later on that day and whistle comes out of know where funny part is when i drive by ppl and it whistles ppl look lol funny

 

It could be a Vaccum Leak. The Whistle Heh? WOOWOOO!!!!
