theft rate for the newest generation SI's?
I just sold my em1 because of thieves. im now looking in the market for the new SI's and was wondering how the theft rate was for these vehicles and if it is or could be in the future anywhere as bad as the ek/em1 models in regarding to thieves? would i be safe in this vehicle? i live in jersey and i have to travel to the rough parts sometimes and i really would want a vehicle that wouldn't be attacked by thieves.
The theft rates are much lower, since a k20 isn't a straight drop in swap like a b series, and requires things like kpro to run on a non-Rsx. But the #1 protection is full coverage insurance. If it gets stolen, insurance will cut you a check for what you owe for the car, since it's so new. If you have 15 grand into your 93 hatch and it gets jacked, you'll get maybe 2k back and lose your ***. You will be fine picking up a newer si. They may not look as nice as the em1 si, but they're an overall better car in every other aspect.
so i should be fine getting one? i just want to finally be able to drive my car to the mall or movie theatres..i couldn't do that in my em1 lol, because the one time i did, it got broken into
i park throughout philly and never have had a problem. i rarely hear of them gettin stolen, thats just from the internet, and out of the 30+ people i know with them havent gotten their **** stolen.
The big difference between the new Civics and the older ones are key immobilizers. If they don't have your key, they're not going anywhere with your car.(Unless they take it with a flatbed.)

True, but it still makes it much more difficult in that every Joe and Larry can't drop 15 bucks on a factory key and have access to any Honda, like they could with the older Hondas.
