replacing 1/4 panel and door
Well I bought a wrecked teg for a project and thought I'd show you guys what I've been fixing. It's not that hard if you have the right tools, knowledge and a lot of time/patience. Just make sure your not getting into something you can't finish. I've been working on this about 3 days a week for a few hours after work. They will be painted black just real quick after I'm done. Cars getting a color change in about 3 months so I'm not gonna make it perfect. Just a quick spray to protect it from the weather.
The worst part is drilling out all the spot welds off both 1/4's. After that it's just all basic body work stuff. I'll post more pics later these are just a few I already have. I had to buy a few things before I could get started on this project.
1. spot weld cutter
2.panel adhesive
3.seam sealer
4.chassis saver
5. special gun for the adhesive/sealer
6. bondo
7. spot glaze icing
8. tube of window weld
9.sandpaper 180-320 grit and some 600
You can see all the holes from the spot welds. There are about 1" apart the entire way around the 1/4 panel. I'd say around 200 of them and x that buy 2 because you have to take the junk 1/4 off and also the one your going to put back on. Also a bunch are hidden behind seam sealer/window/tail light, ect. We cut the 1/4 in 3 different spots...inside the door on the rocker panel"gets covered by the plastic piece"....right were the side window is "gets covered by the window"...right were the hatch line is"only spot you have to make perfect b/c it's the only one you can see"

Got some more done on it today. Door is prepped and it all should be under primer the next time I go up to work on it. Here are some more pics of what I already had finished. All of the 200 hundred holes from the spot welds are all gone. Iced over and finished sanding them down. The quarter is on the car seamless now. Can't even tell where it was cut.

i'd say he did judging by the picture of him welding...
looks good so far though, keep coming with the pics
Yeah man thanks for the compliments.
Ok well I got to finally finish my prep work and tape off the car. Yesterday night I laid down my omni epoxy primer and today I went up and put down the omni 2k over that. Going to let it sit and on Tuesday will go back up and lay down the base and clear on it.
Here are some more pics of my progress so far.

Well it's finally painted. Gonna let it sit till Sunday then wet sand and buff it. Sorry about the crappy pics but there was still some clear in the air.
