dc maplight into ej1
Use the automotive wiring. Don't cheap out. This is important because it is shielded properly from the extreme conditions that vehicle wiring is subjected. The shielding on speaker wiring is not built to withstand these conditions to (eg., hot/cold fluctuations can lead to cracking). A small roll will cost a few dollars. Or, next time you're at the wreckers, you could even pull a wire of the CORRECT COLOUR, and it will be yours for a few cents or even nothing at all, and you'll go to bed at night knowing that your wiring is true to the original specs. WHT/RED can be found going to the dome light along the A-pillar.

well i got the hole cut out now and it lines up perfect. under the headliner by the sunroof motor there is the holes for two bolts. and where u have the little plastic piece that exposes the motor thats where the hole in this one should line up. that helped me to cut an accurate hole...
once i finish wiring this up everything will pop into place. im happy this was easy and is gonna look sick. oh, i also got some 'oh ****' handle block offs...
i might post pics later but i dont know how...

Yes, PLEASE post pics, especially of inside the hole showing where the bolt holes are -- I'll be mounting one in an Si and it would be GREAT to know exactly where to cut.

ok DeSchlong lol, yea the Si should have the mounting holes too. same **** anyway... im goin to take some pics now and put everything together.
pic 1 shows the mounting points, the other one is to the left...
pic 2 and 3 shows the cut. just trace the inside of the light like the other diy's, i also used cardboard as a guide. as u can see from the inside its like a quarter inch below the 'gasket' around the existing sunroof plug...

Uh, yeah -- I meant to write this earlier, but since you're fishing for compliments (hehe!) -- I have to say that your install is probably the best I have seen to date, and near-perfectly replicates the stock Japanese set-up. I am really impressed!
u could use a regular maplight though they just clip in if u cut a small hole...
Here's a write-up in case you needed a step-by-step:

I was just looking for this exact write up, I realize this is old, but still looks great. Which maplight matches our headliner better, the light grey or beige?
LT grey. And, I recommend the Integra map light over the OEM Civic one (not that you can find the EG6 sunroof map light anyway ... non-sunroof is easy to find). Having the ability to light one side or the other is better than how both light up on the original OEM light. I find it pretty glaring with both sides lit up as I'm driving, and the passenger is using the light ... but I have yet to mess around with my current set-up to change it over to the Integra light.
This is probably my favourite "quick and easy" mod that I've done.
