94 gsr ys1 trans what is it really
i have a 94 gsr with a ys1 trans. i was told it was the stock trans that came in the car and also not. it has a bracket which is usually used with a cable clutch but on mine, the bracket is pushed up by the slave cylinder. so if im going to buy a clutch and lsd kit, is it a true b18c1 trans for a 94-01 or is it the b16a2 trans, or even the old da trans. you can see in the pic where the two bolts behind the bracket is where the slave cylidner goes which pushed up the both on the bracket.

Its a 90-93 trans. Its cable operated. I assume your car is a 94+ hydro car. You should sell this trans and but a hydro one. You should also know theres a great chance that this trans isnt even a gsr, but yet a ls trans. I would open it up and see whats inside.
YS1 is a large spline cable trans. It has the same internals as a hydro trans but with the cable actuated clutch. It will either have LS internals or it will have 93 GSR internals. If it's a 93 GSR trans, the ratios are actually more B16 than Hydro GSR. Closer gears...
Open it up and count the gears and divide the countershaft and mainshaft gears to firgure out if the ratios are ls or gsr. if they're gsr, that tranny is worth a decent amount? does it have lsd?
You can put those gears into a hydro casing too
