Default Cruise Control Takes A While To Kick In?

When I set my cruise control, it takes a good 10-15 seconds to actually start working. By then, my car will drop like 5 mph and its a real pain in the ***. Any ideas on how to fix this?

That's just how it is. Just keep your foot on the pedal for those seconds until CC takes over and you maintain your speed.
